The Hop Stop

With abundant choice comes the dilemma of decision. You’ve got 36 craft beers to select from at the Hop Stop, East Nashville’s laid-back but just-sleek-enough craft beer bar. To avert the what’llIdrinkthistimeanxiety these guys pour both pints and half-pints from their rotating selection. If you’re a dart-shark, head to the boards in the back. Settle in with the signature Queso Frio dip (cold cheese dip? It’s awesome, I promise) or one of their gourmet hot dogs on a pretzel bun.

Tennessee Brew Works

One of the newer ale houses to open their doors on Brewers’ Row, Tennessee Brew Works has drawn their identity and inspiration for beers from strong Music City and Tennessee roots. Clever wordplay, like “Basil Ryeman,” is only trumped by their combination of flavorful and unique beers. You will find live music and something for everyone, every night they’re open. Plus, the coolest patio protruding from a pint house anywhere!

Black Abbey Brewery

Located in a pristine warehouse on Sidco Drive (behind 100 Oaks), Black Abbey Brewing Company offers a selection of unique beers inspired by the heritage of Martin Luther’s Black Abbey. At this mindful establishment you can enjoy intelligent brews, plates of local cheese and cured meats, and vinyl on the stereo—all at long wooden tables in their Fellowship Hall, which is reminiscent of community-driven monasteries. My personal favorite is the Potus 44, a “robust porter liberally infused with Kenyan and Hawaiian coffee.”

Pub 5

If you’re staying downtown, there are dozens of bars you can wander into for a rowdy time; But if you take 40 steps off Broadway you’ll find a local oasis in Pub 5. Belly up to the bar or grab a table on the third floor roof deck. Enjoy a great selection of local & micro brews and inspired southern pub grub. I’m partial to drinking Guinness here, they can pour you a proper pint.

The Pharmacy Burger Parlor & Beer Garden

Atmosphere, food that makes your mouth water, varieties of unique beer & housemade soda, and reasonable pricing. Wrap all of these attributes up and you have The Pharmacy. It is one of the few places in Nashville with a biergarten in the backyard and you’ll be quite pleased with their selection of creative burgers—made with fresh ingredients. Not to be forgotten, their beer selection is extensive and will satisfy the palate of any beer lover.
